The collection and return of baggage is from £49.99 including VAT per item each way, with a weight limit of 23kg per item.
1. Definitions
Service Provider: BGX Logistics Ltd T/A Baggex
Customer: The person or organisation entering into a contract with Baggex for the collection, transportation and delivery of luggage or mobility equipment.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Baggex, whether carried out directly or through an approved subcontractor.
2. Our Service
Baggex provides a premium door-to-door luggage collection and delivery service between customers’ homes and selected UK cruise terminals.
We currently serve the following cruise terminals:
- Southampton
- Portsmouth
- Dover
- Tilbury
- Liverpool
- Newcastle
- Rosyth
Our standard service includes:
- Collection from your home approximately 2–7 working days before your cruise.
- Secure transportation to your departure port.
- Delivery to the cruise line for loading onto your ship.
- Collection from the cruise terminal following disembarkation.
- Return delivery to your home within approximately 1–7 working days.
Collection and delivery dates are subject to operational requirements and availability.
3. Booking
To guarantee availability, we recommend booking your luggage movement at least six weeks before your cruise departure.
Bookings made closer to departure will be accepted subject to availability.
4. Charges
The standard charge for luggage movements is based on the cruise line and departure port.
Current prices are published on www.baggex.co.uk and include VAT.
Unless otherwise agreed:
- Prices are charged per item.
- Home-to-port and port-to-home journeys are charged separately.
Promotional offers cannot be combined with other discounts.
5. Weight Restrictions
Each item of luggage must:
- Weigh 23kg or less
- Be capable of being lifted safely by one person
- Be fitted with suitable wheels and handles
- Be designed specifically for transporting personal luggage
Baggex reserves the right to refuse any item exceeding the weight limit or deemed unsafe to handle.
6. Items We Accept
We accept:
- Suitcases
- Holdalls
- Garment carriers
- Cruise luggage
- Folding wheelchairs
- Walking aids
- Mobility scooters (subject to prior agreement)
Mobility equipment and medical aids must be declared at the time of booking.
We do not accept:
- Cardboard boxes
- Plastic storage containers
- Hazardous or dangerous goods
- Firearms or ammunition
- Flammable substances
- Cash
- Passports
- Jewellery
- Valuable documents
These items should always remain with the customer during travel.
7. Customer Responsibilities
Customers must ensure:
- Cruise luggage labels supplied by the cruise line are attached where applicable.
- Luggage is securely locked before collection.
- Someone is available during the agreed collection and delivery windows.
Failure to comply may result in delays or refusal of collection.
8. Collection & Delivery
Baggex will agree collection and delivery windows in advance.
Should nobody be available when our driver arrives, a further collection attempt may incur an additional charge.
If operational circumstances require changes to collection or delivery times, customers will be contacted as soon as reasonably practicable.
9. Insurance & Liability
Each suitcase or item of luggage is insured against physical damage to the case itself up to a maximum value of £100 per item.
The contents of luggage are not insured by Baggex.
Customers are responsible for arranging suitable travel insurance to cover personal belongings.
Any claim for damage must be reported within 7 days of delivery.
Claims will be assessed individually.
10. Photography
Baggex may photograph luggage during collection and delivery to provide evidence of condition and assist with identification should any dispute arise.
11. Delays Beyond Our Control
Baggex shall not be liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather
- Road closures
- Traffic incidents
- Industrial action
- Port closures
- Changes to cruise schedules
- Security incidents
- Government restrictions
- Force majeure events
Where possible, customers will be kept informed throughout any disruption.
12. Unclaimed Luggage
If luggage cannot be returned because the customer cannot be contacted, Baggex will make every reasonable effort to establish contact.
Should luggage remain unclaimed after written notification and a minimum period of 28 days, Baggex reserves the right to dispose of or donate the luggage in an appropriate manner.
13. Cancellation Policy
Should you cancel your booking before collection:
- A full refund will be issued less a £20 administration fee, or
- Your booking may be transferred to a future cruise at no additional charge.
If Baggex fails to collect your luggage on the agreed collection date and you choose not to proceed with the service, a full refund will be issued.
Refund requests should be made by contacting Customer Services and quoting your booking reference.
14. Privacy
Baggex collects personal information solely for the purpose of providing our services.
Information may include:
- Name
- Address
- Telephone number
- Email address
- Cruise details
- Payment information
Personal information is stored securely and processed in accordance with UK GDPR.
We never sell customer information to third parties.
15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising from the provision of services by Baggex shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
